Let’s pretend no one knows why the newly constituted National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set ¢420,000 as the price the hopefuls are to pay before getting on the ballot in January 2019.
The contradictory nature of this announcement in nexus with the ideals of a left of centre party, which proffers to fight for the betterment of the ordinary citizen is nauseating.
But let’s assume that some of the hopefuls’ ‘lamentations’ lacking ‘revelation’ in the words of the General Secretary of the party are not *taken* into consideration and they proceed to *file* these ‘exhorbitant’ fees as described by Ekow Spio-Garbrah.
How are they going to raise these fees?
More importantly, who are they going to get the chunk of the fees from?
Clearly large portions of these monies are going to be paid by political entrepreneurs.
The associate effects are going to be favours handed to these *opportunists* and parochial-oriented entrepreneurs. This only soars *moneycracy* and graft in our body polity. This clearly is not in nexus with the ideals of social democracy.
Our Democracy Must Be
#Deliberate in enhancing the fortunes of the citizenry, not deliberately helping the few *elites* stacking more than they need.
