The capital city of Ghana, Accra is supposed to be a lovely home for all; a place of comfort, recreation and adventure. It is sad that life in the capital city is getting more complicated and acidic. The traffic situation coupled with the filth make the city ugly. You are denied of fresh air and hygienic meals outside your home as long as you remain in Accra. A lot has been said about how to maintain and keep the city but little or no action has be made to erase the situation entirely.
Aside the heartbreaking heavy traffic, the filth in Accra generates into a nauseating stench at vantage points in the country and if care is no taken, we would have to wear nose covers everywhere we go. Nature has blessed us with a beautiful land and an enviable vegetation but it is becoming a bane rather than a blessing. The moment you cross the borders of Accra into other parts of the nation, the air around you changes and you are tempted to fill your air sack with fresh air. If there were reservoirs for air, I know people would have had enough fresh air for future use.
Let us make Accra beautiful again. Try to manage the filth in your corner.
