Immediately you turn on the location icon on your phone, you get your accurate location. You cannot be in “Tema-Community and say you are in Cantoments-Accra”. Whatever you do with your phone, tablet and laptop is what you will get and what others will see. You cannot fake it with technology. I am not talking about photoshops and other editing techniques that seem to hide the reality. I am talking about technology in its simplest usage.
That kind of honesty to oneself is what keeps you in the track of life. I have realised with time that the brave are honest with themselves first and then with others. Most people do not even want to accept who they are so they want to be under the veil of others and proclaim who they are not. There’s no point in pretending to be who you are not and acting out the role of pretence skillfully.
No one really cares but you are killing yourself slowly deep inside that the day your scars will open, you cannot heal the wounds talk less of wiping the scars because some scars have deep roots. WHO REALLY ARE YOU? WHAT DO YOU REALLY STAND FOR? WHAT DO YOU REALLY CHERISH? WHAT REALLY SCARES YOU AND WHAT REALLY MAKES YOU HAPPY? Be like the phone in your hand. The one you use to deceive yourself thinking you are deceiving the world to put yourself in an honest check. Remove the veil and come out of the crowd to be you; you and you only. That’s the only way you can make the difference you desire.
Know your value and be honest with yourself. It is only when you are honest with yourself that you can come out of any pit or mess you are in. Remove the mask and fight for your identity.
If you can’t decipher your reflection in the mirror, you will not get your value in public. (Ambijay, 2018)
Honesty to oneself is bravery and self inspiration. Start now.
