A smoothie is a thick beverage made from blended raw fruits, vegetables or ice cream and cookies with other ingredients such as water, ice, or sweeteners.
Many smoothies are contain large amounts of fruits or vegetables that are recommended for a healthful diet. Adding too much sweet fruits however takes away the healthfulness of a smoothie.
People who workout are also heavy consumers of healthy shakes and smoothies, most of which contain little or no sugar and no cream. These are called Green Smoothies. They contain large amounts of vegetables like spinach, parsley, mint, cucumber and other green veges.
Smoothies have become a fast growing culture in most of the eateries and diners in Ghana. Young people love it and so does the old. They are quiet pricey though as some of the fruits like strawberries and blueberries are imported. My personal favorite is the Oreo Cookie smoothie, but hey, not everyone has a sweet-tooth.

2 fingers of banana
3 slices of pineapple
1 sachet of vanilla ice cream
Blend all the ingredients together till smooth. Add more ice cream for consistency(optional)
